The London Flat offers a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker with coffee. The Queen Anne chairs offer a wonderful space to relax and enjoy a good book or watch TV . And of course it has its own private bathroom and air conditioning.
We spent 4 months in England and one month of that was spent in London. It all started because I had watched the Chelsea Garden Show on HGTV for years. So when it came time for our England trip, I made sure that we were in London for the Garden Show.
It was amazing... but what was equally amazing was London itself!
Everywhere you go it is just a hub of activity... but it seems to be in slow motion.
From the Crown Jewels (which I don't understand ) to Princess Di's Memorial (which is a disgrace ) to the Speakers Corner (which is pure entertainment ) to so many grand Palaces (which I think would be hard to call home ) to the Monarchy (which we thought the citizens would be against, but they weren't ) we were mesmerized with all that London had to offer. Everyday was a new adventure!
Anyway... the last week we took it easy and just decided to ride the double decker buses to where ever they would take us. We'd sit on top at the very front and just zoom around London with not a care in the world. We'd hop off for lunch & discover a whole new area and then hop back on until dinner & be amazed with what we found in that new area & then end the evening enjoying the lights of London from the top of the double decker bus! We ended up discovering so many new places... we called it "Blacklining by Bus". (See story for the Chateau Treehouse about Blacklining! )
So if we ever do go back to London...
Our time will be spent riding around on the top level of those buses as I know there is still ALOT more to experience just from the front row seats!
If you go & want to Blackline by Bus, the trick is to find the least traveled bus routes and get the top front seat! If people that are sitting in the most coveted seats they will eventually get off... I PROMISE!!!
OOPS! Got so carried away with the bus' that I forgot to mention the little London Flat that we spent our month in! It was just the cutest little apartment and perfectly situated, as it was right on the bus line, just as "The London Flat" at Oak Crest is located right on the Trolley line! So instead of seeing the sites of London, you'll can enjoy all that Eureka Springs has to offer, which in my opinion is one of the most magical places on earth!!!
So this is our tribute to our little London Flat that we cozied up in for a month.

"...We were most pleased with out little home in the London Flat. I absolutely loved it. The place reminded me of summer cottages back home (in Ontario, Canada ) during my childhood. The glider bench rocker and lighted fountain outside our door was a delightful touch. The room was spotless and we were most content with it...
I so hope to return in the next few years.
Thank you for being such conscientious, gracious & friendly hosts."

"I just wanted to thank you for all your help this past holiday weekend. My husband, Ali, and I stayed in your London Suite and were delighted with our room. Our room was so comfortable -- much better than an ordinary hotel room. You also gave us great information on where to visit and eat... Thanks Again!"

"I just wanted to let you know how impressed my boyfriend and I were and what a wonderful stay we had in The London Suite. The pictures on the internet were just a peek at the beautiful and homey suite. My boyfriend wanted to stay another night because our room was so comfortable.
Eureka Springs is a charming town with breathtaking scenery. When telling people about our trip the first thing I tell them about is our room and how it was so much better than any hotel room.
Elaine, you were very helpful in pointing us around town...
Neither one of us can wait till we can come back to Eureka Springs for another comfortable stay at Oak Crest Cottages!"

"Thank for generosity and hospitality this weekend. We stayed in the "London Suite" and it was the most comfortable room we've ever stayed in. Oak Crest is a beautiful place that obviously has a lot of time and creative touch put into it. We are so satisfied with our visit that we will plan to stay at Oak Crest every opportunity we have in the future. We commend you on your ability to create such a comfortable environment and your kindness cannot be matched. We'll recommend Oak Crest Cottages to every person who travels through Eureka Springs. Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you in the future!"

"Ken & I want to thank you so much for your hospitality. Oak Crest Cottages made our first vacation in 8 years a very pleasant experience. Cottage #4 (London Suite ) will always have a place in our fond memories of Eureka Springs. It was undoubtedly better than any "hotel" room we've ever occupied. Don was so gracious to give us a tour of all the cottages & the "Mountain Chalet" - WOW! The two of you should be very proud. We were happy to see the "No Vacancy" sign lit up after driving by so many who looked quite empty.
I don't know that we'll visit Eureka Springs again but believe me, if we ever do, we will give you a call for reservations. Thanks again."
